Please select the events you would like to enter by "adding to basket". You will be asked to enter the details of each competitor in the race.

As Crew Manager, you must confirm that all crew members can swim at least 50 metres in light clothing and hereby release the race organisers, their sponsors, agents, staff and officials from any claim for injury or loss though our participation in this competition. Land Based Tug of War

Following the success of this Land Based Event in 2016 - we will be running it again this year. This event is FREE!

Team Events

With the exception of the 'Children's '40' Dongola, all entrants for all other Team Events must be over 12 years old on the day of the even & each team must comprise of at least two adults.

Bath Race

Bath Race
2 household baths joined together down the long side (not the tap end) with 4 people (all over 12 with at least 2 adults) paddling it – 2 in each bath. Freeboard can be a problem!!
Prizes for best fancy dress.

Thames Dongola

Thames Dongola
6 people (2 of whom must be female) paddling in punts Steering is important. The tricky bit is turning clockwise round your own buoy at the end of the course before the dash back to the finishing line.

Residents’ Dongola

Residents’ Dongola
This is for the residents of Hurley Parish only (may include two guests from outside the Parish).
6 people (2 of whom must be female) paddling in punts - as there is no rudder, steering is important. The tricky bit is turning clockwise round your own buoy at the end of the course before the dash back to the finishing line.

Junior Classes

In all Junior Races the qualifying age is under 12/under 15/under 17 on the day of the regatta (unless specified otherwise - ie. Little and Large races)
All junior competitiors must provide and wear lifejackets.
A maximum of 5 races, including coxing, can be entered.
Oars must be tied in for all dinghy races.

A man (knight) paddles a canoe to the start line stake boat where his damsel is collected before he paddles to the finish line. One paddle in boat to be used by male.

Paddleboarding is a relatively new sport. This is Hurley's own take on the sport using the Cobra kayaks the stand up technique is required to paddle the kayak down the course straight to the finish.
